ALBA Fiber Co.
ABOUT ME:
Hi, and welcome to ALBA Fiber Co! My name is Alison Bank and I’m the hands and heart behind ALBA. While I’ve been dabbling in fiber arts my entire life, I first started doing macrame in 2019 after being introduced while doing evaluation research at a local makerspace. Coming from a research background, I try to balance my left-brained, analytic side with my creative, right-brained vision with each piece I make. My work utilizes vibrant colors, mixed textures, and unique techniques to create one-of-a-kind pieces that are more than just decoration. I strive to put the FUN in FUNCTIONAL, with pieces that double as aesthetic AND practical.
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:
All of my pieces are knotted by hand, made with love, and meant to bring you a smile. You’ll notice that I’m NOT afraid of color and tend to use vibrant combinations of colors in my work because it makes me happy – no boring neutrals here! I prioritize sourcing materials from other women-owned, small businesses, including the 100% cotton cord I use in all my pieces. ALBA Fiber Co. seeks to minimize its environmental footprint by reusing cord remnants for smaller products, such as keychains, rearview mirror charms, tassels, jewelry, etc.
