ABOUT ME:

Hi! My name is Amber Lapp. I’m a polymer clay artist, designer, and small business owner from Pittsburgh, PA.

I find inspiration in food, nature, outer space, my ’90s childhood, novelty items, and all things weird and whimsical. I love to discover new ways to innovate while making, whether it’s cutting tiny pieces of translucent clay for the “salt” on my pretzel hoop earrings or using plastic wrap to round the edges of my bandage hair clips. I live for those lightbulb moments.

When I’m not creating things for All Along, you can find me hiking in one of the city’s beautiful parks, watching Star Trek, or playing board games.

ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:

They make great gifts, and are coveted by people of all ages.

Some products are hand-sculpted, while others are created using 3D-printed tools that I design or source from other small businesses. I strive to offer items at many different price points. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be debuting a few ornaments, pins, and magnets at Handmade Arcade this year!

Quality is top-of-mind during each step of production. I work with premium polymer clay which is durable, flexible, and lightweight once baked. I sand, clean, and check each piece before it’s assembled into its final form. I use surgical steel posts and gold-filled findings for my earrings, which tarnish at a much slower rate than gold-plated findings. Both of these metals are strong and safe for sensitive ears.

Because polymer clay is a type of plastic, I reduce my environmental impact by making small batches, offering preorders, reusing scrap clay, and incorporating unused or damaged pieces into other creative projects.

With proper care and storage, polymer clay items can last a lifetime. Isn’t that exciting?
