Hi there! My name is Annie Heisey, I am a Pittsburgh native, and I’ve been making paintings for almost 25 years. Painting is the way I interpret the world. My subject matter comes from the world around me, my family and friends, and the city I love. My work is rooted in my own experiences and imaginings, but I distill those experiences and imaginings down to the essential emotion or idea at their root which makes my paintings honest and personal while also being universal. I want you to find yourself in my paintings, to discover something you’ve already seen or felt and make you see it and feel it in a new way, whether it’s the city you live in or the state of your soul.

I offer a variety of products including original ready-to-hang oil paintings, archival prints and postcards, and ornaments and magnets made from casting my dried paint-palette scraps in resin. My love of color and vivid imagination combine to make delightfully unexpected images that take the viewer to an alternate world where color reigns, birds swim underwater and fish can fly. It looks a lot like our world, just more vibrant and unexpected with endless possibilities around every corner. I hope you’ll join me there.
