Hi there, friend! Welcome to my Avert Adornments booth
I’m Lindsay, the lady who’s been creating this handmade jewelry for you since 2017. My jewelry brand is inspired by both of my grandmothers. Treva is the namesake (Avert is Treva backwards!) and the put-together, classic, always perfectly accessorized Gram who delighted in the finest quality adornments. Carol is the wild one—she mixed polka dots with stripes with an admirable level of reckless abandon, and color was her friend. Blending their styles together has created a cohesive brand full of jewelry that can pull an outfit together, with just a hint of wildness to make it stand out. I started this journey after several jewelry fabrication classes at Toledo Museum of Art, though my love of big earrings and bright colors has been lifelong!
Well, now that we know each other so well should I tell you something silly about me. Yeah? Okay… I taught myself to ride a bike just before my 30th birthday. Yep. There ya go.
ABOUT MY JEWELRY:
My jewelry is characterized by hand-painted, hand-marbled, or hand-cut genuine leather, as well as faux suede fringe (for our vegan friends). I set these in gold or brass as I love the warmth of these metals, and accent with natural stones, lightweight acetate, or vintage beads. Statement earrings are my specialty but I make several smaller options for friends who prefer more understated jewelry. I love earrings the most, so they make up the majority of the products at Avert, but a limited selection of necklaces is always available, too!
