Beans’ Threads is a creative endeavor I started after becoming a parent for the first time this year. Prior to having a child, I made functional pottery inspired by my Tlingit and Athabaskan heritage. Once my wife was pregnant, there was no time for pottery so I focused my creativity on making infant shoes, hats, and blankets. This grew to include clothing once he was born when we struggled to find cool, unique, sustainable clothing for him. I started making rompers out of some vintage t-shirts I was holding on to. Sustainability is important to me and I didn’t want those t-shirts to end up in a landfill. My wife and I were so pleased with how Brooks (aka Beans) looked in his upcycled rompers that Beans’ Threads was born. I use vintage and thrifted graphic clothing and make it brand new by turning it in to easy to wear baby and toddler clothing.
