Handmade leather goods tell a story. From design and production with a small team to the unique wear and patina that develop over time, their every mark is a reminder of a specific event. Clark Morelia creates products that can be used every day for years to come. From wallets to backpacks, all of the products we produce are made one at a time by hand in our studio in Wilkinsburg.
All of the leather we use is purchased as second runs in an effort to reduce leather waste from large U.S. tanneries. Our leather contains small imperfections that large companies in the shoe and bag industry deem undesirable. The character that these marks create in the leather doesn’t affect the structural quality of the leather, allowing us to sustainably create quality products with full-grain leather.
Our customers love items that you buy once and use for life. Not only do they appreciate reducing waste by avoiding purchasing products that don’t last, but also the comfort that comes with knowing that they carry a product they can depend on.
Our products are a direct reflection of where they are made. Pittsburgh, once a steel town and hub for industrial production, has shifted towards technology but many people who live here still have that hard-working rust belt mentality. Our wallets and bags are minimal and understated. At their core, they are functional, utilitarian products that aren’t intended to turn heads, but instill a sense of reliability and longevity.
