Hello! My name is Amy Garbark and I’m the face (and hands and heart) behind garbella. I have been designing and screenprinting garbella products for over 10 years; I design all of our products, and I print most of them in-house at our studio in Lawrenceville. This business was built with a DIY ethos. This scrappiness and hands-on approach to every aspect of the business makes garbella unique. I love the whole process, from designing to printing to photographing the finished products. This past year has been very different as I’m used to showing our products in person and interacting with our incredible customers. Thanks so much for checking us out virtually this year; your support of small businesses and handmade goods is very appreciated!
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:
We have lots of products that make great gifts for Pittsburgh natives and expats, food lovers, snackers, and nature lovers. Many of our products feature simple designs that strike a chord with customers through memories, nostalgia, and a connection to place or time. Our apparel is soft, casual and easy to wear, and our baby goods, kitchen towels, coffee mugs, magnets, and more make great gifts.
We print using water-based inks for a soft feel and easy care. We source American made, ethically produced products and support small, women-owned vendors whenever possible. Our customers have used our baby onesies to announce their pregnancy to their partners, parents, and friends and family. We’ve been told that our food-themed products serve as reminders of loved ones and the special dishes that they made and shared with family. This is the kind of sentiment that keeps us going and one of the things that make our products special.
