About me:

Hello! I’m Hannah Lenhart and I’m the ceramicist behind Hannah’s Clay Creations. I was first introduced to clay winter of 2014 when I took a pottery class randomly in college and fell in love! Within two weeks I changed my major to it and never looked back. I work in the beautiful hills of West Virginia with my studio assistant, Meow Meow. When I’m not in the studio, I enjoy light trail biking, hiking, adventuring small towns, exploring coffee shops and breweries, watching nerdy movies, and going on drives where I often get lost because I suck with directions.

About my products:

As a lover of color, pattern, and texture, these elements often find themselves in my work. I love the idea of making life’s little rituals a little more special! Just adding a bit of fun and whimsy to the act of getting a morning cup of coffee or arranging a bouquet of flowers in a funky vase is very exciting to me. All of my work is created using cone 6 white stoneware dyed bright colors and is built to last if treated kindly. Find a whole “care guide” on my website at hannahsclaycreations.com.

“Is your work microwave and dishwasher safe?” I say use at your own risk. I personally put my work in both, but I’m careful not to put pieces in the microwave for longer than two minutes and I don’t immediately put cold beverages into mugs still hot from the dishwasher. As with any ceramic ware, handmade or commercial, shifting in extreme temperatures can cause thermal shock and cause pieces to crack.

With most of my work you may notice sections of texture. I pipe on clay much like you would icing on a cake to create some “eye candy” and “hand play” on my pieces. At the end of the day, if my work can create a moment of pause for someone and spark a little bit of joy, I’m a very happy camper!
