ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Jess Bennett from Letterpress Jess. In 2013, I rescued a 2,500-pound, cast-iron, midcentury letterpress printing press from the scrap heap and started my own company. I utilize a mix of wood, lead type, and vintage cuts alongside modern photopolymer plates to take my designs from the computer to the printed product. Each of our goods is printed by hand, fed one at a time and one color at a time into the press. Because our process is handcrafted, there are delightful variations in each piece and tactile impressions pressed into our cotton papers. These quirks mark each of our items as truly one-of-a-kind.
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS
I spend most days getting ink on my hands with that same press, affectionately known as “Big Sal,” while creating cute, crass, and smart ass letterpress greeting cards, stationery and art prints, and an offering of gift items, including totes, candles, earrings, and pins. In 2019, we were named “Best Punny Greeting Cards” by Cleveland Magazine for our adorable and colorful “Cutie Kawaii” greeting cards, featuring foods with faces! But our bestsellers of all time have been our “Crass Calligraphy” cards, filled with unexpected swears, put downs, and innuendos. In short, we literally have something for everyone and every occasion!
