Hi! I’m Sarah Brown, the artist, printer, and self-proclaimed mastermind of this quirky little letterpress shop. Questionable Press started in 2013, when I found a whole bunch of letterpress equipment headed for the scrap yard. I bought it and taught myself to use it. I learned some traditional image making processes along the way and now I use these tools to dig deep into the natural world.
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:
I hand carve all the images for my work using traditional relief image processes like wood engraving and linoleum carving. Then I pair these blocks with vintage hand-set type and print them, one color at a time, in letterpress machines from the 1940’s and 50’s.
Using these methods, I study and explore the natural world around me. Through my paper sculptures, posters, journals, and cards I strive to bring the strength, fragility, beauty and mystery of nature into your home.
