My name is Erin and I have been working as a fiber artist since 2013 (you may remember me as Fiber Art by Erin).
Red Cottage is my home and studio in the North Hills, which was built by my grandfather and great-grandfather. My time is split between creating and running a business and expanding the edible and ornamental gardens and beneficial wildlife planting around the property. I create needle-felted wool sculptures of plants and animals that I hope will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your heart. I take great care to create an individual personality for each piece. Maybe a little of the magic of Red Cottage will make its way into your home.
After years of practice I began selling my weaving work last year. I focus on big comforting scarves, bandannas, and festive table runners all woven from natural fibers in a mix of wool, alpaca, cotton, and linen.
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:
My wool sculptures are designed and felted by me and inspired by the natural world, especially the birds I watch out my studio windows. I sometimes set up scenes of the felted creatures celebrating events and you’ll find cards and stickers printed from photographs of my felted animals wearing birthday hats and roasting s’mores. My weaving work is all designed and handwoven in my little attic studio on my trusty Mighty Wolf floor loom.
