Welcome to the Stone + Sparrow maker page! Stone + Sparrow is the ceramic studio founded by Kate Marchand – where traditional methods meet modern designs to produce one-of-a-kind pieces for interior spaces. While the work is ever-evolving, our devotion to minimalist pottery for home and hands and has remained consistent. The pieces we produce are continually inspired by the textures, lines, and interplay of nature and architecture with the aim of making simple spaces extraordinary.
After moving to Pittsburgh in 2019, Kate launched Stone + Sparrow Studio in earnest. It began as a small-batch pottery practice and has grown into making distinctive fine art fixtures and sculptural objects.
In 2023 the studio expanded into offering personalized and intimate classes and workshops for the ceramic-curious. We strive to continue growing our fine arts practice while sharing our passion and techniques for making things by hand.
