The Beetle’s Dilemma
About Me
Greetings from Ann Vergara, aka The Beetle’s Dilemma! I create tiny worlds of whimsy that explore the intersection of the natural and human realms. For the better part of a decade, I have been making miniature dioramas with insects, creatures that have fascinated me for my whole life. Using dried flowers, moss, crystals, little lost treasures, and an array of beautiful beetle specimens, these meticulously constructed dioramas invite us to ponder the lives of insects everywhere. Every piece pairs a beetle with a miniature object, little tchotchkes that delight and amuse us humans. Each diorama is handmade and totally one-of-a-kind – the perfect gift for the curious at heart.
About my Dioramas
Though my pieces are made of organic materials, no maintenance is required! The domes are secured in place, and although made of glass, they’re not as fragile as they might look. All of the insects in my pieces are actual beetle specimens, with natural colors and markings. The smallest dioramas are just 3” tall, with larger pieces up to 10” in height.
