The Painter’s Nest

Hi! I’m Jes Reger Davis, a watercolor artist, teaching artist, and owner of The Painter’s Nest. Through loose, unformed brushstrokes, I capture the wonders of the natural world. Inspired by Appalachia and its rugged beauty, my work explores our connection to nature, often blurring the lines between documenting my observations and capturing the essence of my surroundings. I love traveling in and around the Mountain State seeking adventure and inspiration for my next painting. I also teach watercolor classes in my hometown (Wheeling) and have traveled all over West Virginia to teach watercolor workshops.

My products range from original watercolor paintings of the natural world as well as pet portraits (painted with professional grade watercolors on 100% cotton paper) either matted and sealed in a clear sleeve with backing, matted and framed, or mounted on solid wood panels. My husband and I build my frames from scratch—from picking out the wood to sanding and staining—every step is done in our basement!  I also offer 5×7 greeting card prints (blank on the inside) sealed in clear sleeves, bookmarks, coloring books with original drawings, and watercolor inspired hand-painted mugs and ornaments (a collaboration with East Wheeling Clayworks).
