ABOUT US:

We are The Rustic Duck Co., a classroom-based business from the Pennsylvania Wilds. We make products for the bath and home with an emphasis on sustainability and responsible production. We have about 40 kids per graduating class and we run our student-centered business from our high school agriculture department. This is our second school year in business. This is part of our hands-on learning, but we take it as seriously as any business owner. We love the responsibility we have and the level of decisions we get to make. Our business name and our logo were created by us. The products we develop and test are up to us. Sometimes they work and sometimes they fail, but we are always learning new things. The money management is also up to us, and so far we are doing pretty well! We are still putting all of our profits back into the business but the business is really growing. We have bought new equipment including a 70-pound wax melter and have completely transformed our learning space into a working lab and production line.

ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS:

At The Rustic Duck Co., we use plant-based products and renewable or reusable containers whenever possible. We even turn the boxes our shipment come in into tags and packaging for our products. Our candles and lotion candles are made from soy and coconut with coreless cotton wicking which means no metal wires are being burned in our candles! Our candle wicks are self-trimming, burning clean and long with little smoke or waste. Our soaps are made by us in our lab by both cold and hot processes and our candles and lotion candles are hand-poured in small batches.
