ABOUT ME:

Welcome to The Smiling Goat Soap Company.  My name is Tina Smay.  My husband, daughter, and I have been making small-batch, cold process, goat’s milk soap, and moisturizer since 2016.  All of our products start with raw  milk from our herd of pet Nubian goats.

After we added our first goat, my Sweet Baboo, to our homestead in 2015, I needed a use for all of that milk.  After a few failed attempts at fudge making and realizing that we didn’t need any more sweets, I tried my hand at soap making.  It took months of research, experimentation, tweaking, and adjusting, but I finally created the staple recipe we use today.  The artistic part of soap making is my favorite part.  I love to “play” or try new swirls, pours, or embed techniques. I also enjoy creating unique scent blends and beautiful designs for each soap.  I am always excited to release new varieties every season.

ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:

Our soaps and moisturizers are made as simple as possible from sustainable resources.   We make every batch of soap the old-fashioned way.  Each batch begins by mixing frozen raw goats’ milk and lye.  We then melt our solid fats. Next, we add our moisture-rich liquid fats, milk, and lye.  Finally, we add the essential oils or natural-based fragrance oils, our additives such as poppy seeds, oatmeal, handmade yogurt, or silk, and lastly, we add our natural colorants.  Each bar is then unmolded, cut by hand, hand stamped with our logo, and cured on our drying rack for four to six weeks.  Our products are made with love and care, and we hope to pass that on to you.
