ABOUT ME: Hi there! My name is Seiko Sisco, and I’m the owner and maker of Waku Waku Baby. I began sewing for my little one in 2018, and since then, making cute, functional items little ones can wear has been an amazing creative outlet for me. In 2019, I launched Waku Waku Baby so I could continue sharing my passion with families in Pittsburgh and beyond. This year I have been featured in The Incline, The Handmade CEO Podcast, Ya Jagoff radio talk show, and was a recipient of the Comcast RISE Investment Fund and the Spoonflower Small Business Grants.
Waku waku means “to feel happy and excited” in Japanese. I chose my shop name to reflect my Japanese roots and the feeling I get when I sew adorable baby items. I hope that my customers also feel “waku waku” upon receiving my handmade items for their little ones!
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS: Waku Waku Baby is a one-stop-shop where you can find all the cute and comfy accessories for your little ones. I make each item in my home sewing studio in Glenshaw from fabrics that are whimsical and high quality. My items are kid-approved for everyday comfort and mom-approved for easy care (machine washable and dryable). The Stay-On Shoes are our best sellers and customers love them because the shoes are easy to slip on but stay on those wiggly feet.
