Welcome to Wood-N-You Like it. Paul and Laura Fruehan started Wood-N-You Like It Custom Woodworking almost 30 years ago when they were asked if they could duplicate a child’s stool for a friend. I started woodworking at an early age in the family workshop that was originally equipped with tools that belonged to my grandfather, Peter Fruehan. Peter was a pattern maker by trade and worked many years for the Lackawanna Rail Road making wooden patterns of parts for steam locomotives. Several of Peter’s original hand tools are still used today in my workshop. Laura is our resident artist. She has always had an interest in art and painting and has taken numerous art classes. Paul constructs all our items and Laura completes a substantial amount of the finishing.
ABOUT THE PRODUCTS:
Wood-N-You Like it makes “Unique Wooden Keepsakes with a purpose.” I start with retired US Post Office Box Doors that are between 50 and 120 years old. Using a significant amount of locally sourced repurposed wood, I create one-of-a-kind wooden boxes, turning these Post Office Box Doors into Banks. All doors are lightly cleaned to remove any surface dirt while preserving as much patina as possible. The doors are fully functional and include the original combination. Information is provided about the original maker of the doors and approximate date of manufacture. The origin of the door is included if known.
