Makers are our mission.

Handmade Arcade is a nonprofit that supports artistic entrepreneurs throughout the year with programs, events, and professional development.

Holiday Market

Named one of “35 Indie Craft Fairs Every Creative Person Needs to Visit” by Buzzfeed in 2014, Handmade Arcade’s Holiday Market is Pittsburgh’s premier handmade holiday shopping event. Each year, the Holiday Market features 250+ vendors and welcomes more than 10,000 shoppers to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center.

Spring Market:

Our annual Spring Market features 30 new and emerging makers and is hosted by our partners at Construction Junction. This event welcomes 2,500 shoppers each year.

Youth Maker Accelerator Program

Handmade Arcade’s Youth Maker Accelerator Program provides an annual group of youth makers with a materials stipend, free vendor booth at the Holiday Market, professional mentorship, and maker education workshops. We love supporting the next generation of artistic entrepreneurs!

BIPOC Maker Accelerator

Piloted in 2023, the BIPOC Maker Accelerator Program provides selected BIPOC makers with stipends for business development, a free vendor booth at the annual Holiday Market, dedicated marketing, business development resources, and more.

Virtual Catalogs

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, HA created and hosted Virtual Markets on our website when in-person events were not possible. As in-person events have returned, the Virtual Markets have evolved to be Virtual Catalogs that coincide with every in-person market, boosting makers’ online presence and creating another way for customers and makers to connect.

Professional Development for Makers

Ensuring that makers have the tools and professional development opportunities to succeed at HA markets and other markets in the region is a key part of HA’s mission. We lead regular maker workshops and training sessions for makers of all ages on topics such as booth set-up and display, inventory management, pricing products, and more. We also partner with other like-minded nonprofits who are doing related maker education to amplify and introduce their resources to our audiences.

Partnerships & Collaborations

Handmade Arcade loves collaborating with community partners for programming, resource exchanges, and more! Some of our past partners include Pittsburgh Glass Center, Construction Junction, Real World Scholars’ Greater Pittsburgh EdCorps, Pittsburgh Creative & Performing Arts High School, Bridgeway Capital’s Creative Business Accelerator, Artists Image Resources, Assemble, The KRUNK Movement, Protohaven, Union Project, and more. If you want to partner, email us at We’d love to chat!
