2026 Emerging Craft Market Gift Guide

For many in the Pittsburgh area, Handmade Arcade is synonymous with our winter Holiday Market. Named one of BuzzFeed’s “35 Indie Craft Fairs Every Creative Person Needs to Visit” in 2014, the Holiday Market is Pittsburgh’s premier handmade holiday shopping event, welcoming more than 275 makers and 10,000 shoppers to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center each December.
But winter isn’t the only season for shopping locally made with Handmade Arcade.
This spring, we launched the new Modern Craft Market, supported by Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh Glass Center and Pennsylvania Creative Industries. And as summer winds down, our Emerging Craft Market puts the spotlight on makers at another exciting point in their creative journeys. Formerly known as our Spring Market, the event has grown from 30 participants to 70+ juried emerging artists and makers from across the Pittsburgh region and beyond.
Maybe you’re the Type A gift-giver who already has a holiday shopping list going. (Respect.) Maybe your calendar is packed with fall birthdays, weddings and celebrations. Perhaps the impending change of seasons has you itching to refresh your walls, shelves or morning coffee routine. Or maybe you need no occasion whatsoever to treat yourself or someone you love to something handmade.
Whatever brings you shopping, the best finds have a story behind them. Even better? They’re not something you’ll spot in every big-box store.
On Saturday, August 29, the Energy Innovation Center will be filled with jewelry, ceramics, original artwork, accessories, textiles, paper goods, pet gear and plenty of wonderfully unexpected creations. To give you a head start, we’ve put together some Emerging Craft Market Gift Guides featuring a small sampling of what this year’s makers have in store. Consider this your permission slip to start holiday shopping four months early—or to buy yourself something instead. We won’t tell.

Dasha Morris of Millennium Scents creates realistic, handcrafted dessert-inspired candles that look almost too good to burn.
