Meet the Maker: My work explores the fluidity of being in the moment, in a flow state, driven by spontaneity and intuition. My studio practice is an investigation into self, life, meditation, and reflection toward self-growth. I am drawn to the organic shapes, natural forms, beauty, and honesty the living world provides. Many of my forms are gifts from nature - gourds, coconuts, and melons have been used to make ceramic molds. The drawings, brushwork, or carving all start with a dot and grow on their own. My vessels carry poems and light, merging joy and reflection with form and function. Mythology, symbols, text, antiques, cultures, and history intrigue me. I am drawn to the richness of color, texture, and architecture. This journey through clay is opening and ripening me, which is what I submit to.
