Meet the Maker: My jewelry embodies abstract concepts, drawing inspiration from a complex interplay of modern minimalism, Scandinavian design, and the spiritual richness of diverse cultures, including concepts of Ma. By discovering great beauty in its pauses, in gaps and negative space between objects, they accentuate simple forms. I think of my materials as architecture and as music: the exacting geometry of abstraction in precious metal, which defines the void and creates an essential tension. The lines become sound, and the emptiness around them becomes the hole in what you see, which is intentional silence that structures their meaning, movement, and progress. And this perspective is shaped through the lens of a nomad’s past. My designs interpret the visual narratives of my childhood travels and the changing architectural structures and horizons from state to state into clear, forward-looking forms. I utilize simple designs, precious metals, and natural gemstones to achieve fluidity and texture with my work. The resulting pieces are minimal yet contemplatively bold, offering the wearer a sculpture that is structurally refined, layered, and rich with the unspoken potential of these spaces in between.
