Meet the Maker: Clay is my response to the quiet beauty of the world around me. It is my offering, my interpretation, shaped by the textures, colors, and forms that call to me. I build each piece with my hands by pinching, coiling, or cutting slabs of porcelain, to create work that’s meant to be lived with. My ceramics are simple, modern, and clearly handmade, inviting daily use while carrying quiet evidence of touch. At the heart of my practice is a belief that the objects we surround ourselves with can ground us, connect us, and bring a little more presence into our lives. I create functional forms such as planters, platters, pitchers, and more, that help facilitate gathering and sharing. My work is meant to live at the center of the table, the corner of the kitchen, or in the palm of your hand. I want the pieces I make to be part of people’s everyday rituals; the morning coffee, the spontaneous dinner with friends, the plant that marks the change of season. In a world that feels increasingly disconnected, these tactile, meaningful objects offer small but powerful moments of re-connection.
