Meet the Maker: Juleann Benkoski, jBenkoski Studio owner, is a metalsmith, fiber artist, and multidisciplinary creator. jBenkoski Studio is based in downtown Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where the small but vibrant city streets provide daily inspiration. Her jewelry blends traditional metalsmithing and fiber art techniques with a playful twist—infused with color, embellishments, and an element of personal whimsy. Each piece carries a subtle witchy essence, whether through the symbolic language of spirals, the energies of crystals, or literal potion bottles. Juleann has been refining her craft for over two decades, collaborating with world-renowned artists to deepen her expertise. Each new design is meticulously developed, with careful attention to both form and process to ensure every piece is vibrant, unique, and built to last. She personally wears each design for months (sometimes years) to test its durability and ensure it meets her highest standards of quality. Each collection; Felted Gems, Spirals, and Potion Bottles, carries its own magical and deeply personal connection. The Felted Gems, are wet felted to create an unique gem for each piece. Once completed, the gems are hand set within sterling silver (never glued), and methodically hand beaded to perfection. The ability to create a “gem like stone” out of felt to maintain lightweight jewelry has always been fascinating to Juleann. The Spirals series captures a timeless symbol of transformation, spiritual flow, and connection to the natural world. Hand fabricated textures and moveable components brings an extra flare to each piece. The Potion Bottles series, goes all out with color, textures, whimsy, playfulness, and that touch of witchy personal connection. These were created to integrate personal elements (shark teeth, small gem stones, glow in the dark pieces, personal momentous) that are showcased in a unique and interesting container.
