Meet the Maker: My work is a study in contrasts: between light and dark, organic and industrial, minimal and excess. I use an industrial process -- welding steel wire -- to create forms and textures that have an organic quality. I combine the steel with silver, bronze, and gemstones to play with qualities of preciousness and further heighten the contrast between industrial and organic. The silver, bronze, and stones also serve as a visual complement to the dark steel. I often employ handmade chain and link systems in my work to create pieces that drape onto and move with the body.
