Forged in Kol is a small-batch bladesmithing business dedicated to creating one-of-a-kind functional art. Every piece, from hunting and culinary knives to tomahawks, cleavers, and giftable forged items, is crafted entirely by hand. Each blade is forged, ground, and finished with care, blending durability and utility with an artist’s eye for design. With a background in fine arts, the maker, Kyle Gercken, infuses every creation with creativity and meaning. Handles are crafted from exotic hardwoods, resin-stabilized burls, and hand-cast resins, often featuring vivid colors and striking patterns. Unique materials, such as custom Atlas Micarta made from recycled atlas pages, transform ordinary objects into meaningful works of art. In addition to ready-made pieces, Forged in Kol offers custom work tailored to individual needs as well as blacksmithing classes for those interested in learning the craft.
