Welcome to the East End Alchemy maker page! My name is Ingrid LaManna, and I’ve been making jewelry with traditional metalsmithing techniques since 1993 when I took my first class in college. I am constantly learning new techniques from local jewelers and artists around Pittsburgh making East End Alchemy an amalgamation of various materials and techniques. I am a first-generation Argentinian American from the East End of Long Island and I draw inspiration for my jewelry designs from my heritage and my surroundings.
ABOUT MY PRODUCTS:
My jewelry is handmade in the basement studio of my Pittsburgh home. I work in silver, copper, brass, and sometimes incorporate semi-precious stones into some of my pieces. Lately, I have been learning to work with Precious Metal Clay in copper, bronze, and pure silver.
I always have a lot of Pittsburgh-inspired pieces like skyline necklaces and incline earrings and of course, food-related jewelry like my pierogi and empanada necklaces.
I find that the Argentinian tradition of attaching meaning and hope to a beautiful piece of jewelry like an amulet can bring comfort and help me direct and focus on the good things that happen. I hope you find that one of my pieces can bring comfort or joy to your life or that of a loved one.
