Ex Libris Fibers

Ex Libris is a Latin phrase often found on bookplates, and translates to “From the Library.” Ex Libris Fibers hand dyed yarns are bookish, moody, atmospheric, sometimes quirky, and commonly vintage-reminiscent. I hope that working with them will bring you joy and remind you of your favorite stories – or help you to tell your own fiber stories!
Many of the colorways I dye are inspired by stories and libraries, guided by a background in art and libraries and a desire to amplify stories that need to be shared more widely. With these remarkable colors you may learn something new while slowly creating a treasured, customized garment. As a knitter interested in slow fashion and sustainability, the yarns that I use are sourced from regional mills and U.S. ranches when possible, or come from an OEKO-TEX certified mill that uses solar power, recycled nylon for sock yarn, and practices fair labor.
Based in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh, all yarn is dyed in small batches in a slow and thoughtful process.
