Meet the Maker: My practice aims to preserve and highlight traditional weave structures that were almost lost to time; utilizing natural fibers and soft palettes to emphasize how these heirloom pieces can live in the contemporary home. Working with traditional draft patterns and brings me closer to the women of these households who needed to make something useful and chose also to make something beautiful. This is what I pursue in my work: the marriage of beauty and use, fiber and weave structure, form and function; weaving as preservation, stewardship, meditation and a gathering force of history, good design and slow work.
