Jasmine will give you a quick orientation, and they will give you a volunteer badge and apron to borrow for your shift.

Floater & Vendor Assistance:
We ask vendors ahead of time if they are going to be alone so we can watch their booths for a bit while they take short breaks. We will let you know which makers to check-in on throughout your shift.
If you are watching a vendor’s table, establish with them how long they plan to be gone. You should not be required to watch a table longer than 30 minutes or past your shift time.
You are not permitted to sell on behalf of the maker. You will only watch their table and let shoppers know that the vendor will return shortly.
Food & Breaks:
The following food & drink will be available for purchase: Coffee from Les Deux, Oaxacan eats from Lulá’ La Chula (11 AM – 5 PM), Vegan & Gluten-Free Korean food from manduhandu
During busy times, the lines for food can get long. Please plan your meals accordingly.
We will not have a formal Volunteer Break Room for this event due to the venue size, but behind our welcome table, there will be a collection of snacks and water available for staff and volunteers.
Restrooms:
There are two single-stall and gender neutral restrooms inside Construction Junction. There will also be two Porta-Johns outside in the parking lot.
Accessibility:
If you have accessibility needs, please let the Volunteer Coordinator or any Handmade Arcade staff know so we can best support you.
The Construction Junction warehouse floor is concrete and can be unforgiving. Please wear comfortable shoes.
The temperature in the venue can fluctuate, so we recommend wearing layers.
Construction Junction is a working warehouse. There are no steps within the venue, but there may be uneven surfaces as well as the occasional nail, screw, or broken glass on the ground.
Security Plan:
Volunteers will have a high-level safety plan on the back of your lanyards.
Please review our full safety & security plan at this link.
